Curry Shicken

Just kidding! I made Curry Turkey Lurkey :)

I just like to say shicken instead of chicken. I really hope that's how my little man says "chicken nuggets" like this "shick nooguts" That would be awesome!

So anyway, last night I knew I wanted to make dinner. Fuzz and I went shopping at Costco, and like I said in my last post...I am on a money saving kick. So I wanted to use the stuff we made, so that I could take it to work and save money.

So I noticed the ground turkey. Which isn't my favorite because I ate alot of it during my HCG fiasco. Yuck. Don't do HCG, I will elaborate on that at a later time. It's awful.

So I looked in the cabinet for some yummy seasonings, thinking what would be fast and easy. Then I saw my curry powder that I got from a bulk bin, and I thought dang that sounds good! Then I looked further in the cabinet, and I saw a can of coconut milk! That's even better with curry!

So now that I knew what I wanted to season it with I decided that I also wanted to put some veggies in there for good measure. Especially since I don't eat pasta, rice or bread. So I had to have it be super filling somehow.

So my options were like brocolli, cauliflower, mushrooms, mixed veggies, and bell peppers.

I went with brocolli, garlic, and mushrooms. Come to think of it though I probably should have gone with bell peppers too. Those are yummy in curry. Atleast today it sounds like they would be. Either way, I chose my favorites of the bunch :)

Minced Garlic
& chopped mushrooms

So I browned the turkey lurkey.....

Dumped a TON of curry powder on top....

Added coconut milk....

Added shrooms and garlic... the garlic shoulda gone in first... eh oh well!

Then I let it simmer while it heated up the frozen broc ....

When it was done I devoured a bowl, and then I put the rest into tupperware for work.

This morning I woke up when Fuzz left for work, and I was thinking about going straight back to bed. For some reason though my body said, let's work out!

So I did. I picked a Turbo Jam dvd cause I knew it was only 30 minutes. Sounds like just a few measily 30 minutes...but I felt like dying! You can see by my face ;)
Can I just say that working out with glasses on isn't super easy.

Busy Butt

I sure had a busy weekend!

My friend Jessica turned 23 and we celebrated her Birthday on Saturday by going out to Sushi, and then a bar. I was the DD. I don't mind being the DD at all. I have decided that I would rather know that my friends are safe, and still get to hang out with them while they are drinking.

We started the day off by going to the mall for some clothes. I'm on a money saving kick right now, so I didn't buy any. I just got all dressed up before we headed to the mall. I felt all chic :)

This is Jess at the mall... It's not a good picture cause I didn't catch her attention at the right time, and I didn't even get her all the way in it! Silly....

After we were done at the mall, we dropped off cute baby Ryker with Jessica's parents. Her parents are so nice! They rented an executive suite at the Grand America for their night out! It was so pretty there!

I helped Jess curl her hair while she did her makeup (we were running pretty late) Our dinner reservation was at 8, and we were still in the hotel room at 8:03! The place we went is called "The Naked Fish"

We sent Kasey (Jessica's Fiance) off to hold our table while we were getting ready. Then to make matters worse, I got totally lost downtown trying to find the damn place! I knew exactly where to go, but the road I needed was under construction, then there are all of those one way streets to navigate around. Boo to that.

Regardless, I eventually found it.

We got in there and we had one of those cool little rooms.

We even had to take our shoes off to sit down!

I just picked some of the simpler sushi because there weren't many other options. The rolls weren't very elaborate, especially for what they cost! Geez.

I just got a california roll with tobiko, and a spicy salmon roll. See not too exciting. Infact, disappointing is the correct word.

This is how I like my soy sauce...with LOTS of wasabi. Way more than normal people :)

Me, Jess, and Kari

I'm in love with my tights!

After dinner we went to the hotel room for a second while we waited for others to arrive before going to the bar.

The bar that they chose to go to is called "The Green Pig" and to be honest, I hated it there. It was way overcrowded and I felt like there was nowhere to sit, plus the band was so loud that you had to lean into your friends ear so they could hear you. Plus there were stupid meatheads who kept trying to fight with the boys. Laaaaaame.

Here are some pics from the bar. Kasey bought Jess a round of huka for her Bday :)

I think the best part of the bar though, was this guy........

From the time we got there until the time we left, he was dancing with all the ladies! I didn't get a picture of it, but he had this shiny glittery cardigan on when we got there. Sooo cute. I wanted to dance with him too, but I hadn't been drinking. So I opted to take the pics instead!

That was my night, I got home around 1:30 in the morning.

Then on Sunday morning I decided to try to make some type of pancakes. I didn't really have a recipe, just messing around. Next time I will use a recipe. These were a total flop.

These were my ingredients... I seperated 3 eggs, and put the yolks in a bowl. The whites I added cream of tartar and then whipped em up into stiff peaks.

Then into the yolks I mixed SF banana pudding mix, and stevia. Then I folded that into the egg whites.

All the while I was heating up my pan

Then I mixed in a few chocolate chips. However, next time I won't mix them in. Instead I will drop them on top of my "pancake" in the pan.

Well, needless to say these didn't work. I couldn't get them to flip. Then I had to leave the house to go see my grandma. So I ended up pouring the rest of the batter onto a piece of parchment paper and put it in the oven for like 10 minutes. It came out (sorry no pic) kinda like a huge flat egg tortilla. So I rolled it up and ate it. The best part of the story is that even though the pancake idea didn't exactly pan out...ha no pun intended! It tasted awesome! Like banana nut bread with chocolate! Mmmm :)

Lastly, how could I not leave you without showing you a picture of my favorite kid! Danger-mania!
After my silly pancake fiasco, we went to the gateway before heading up to Centerville to see my grandma. We stopped at Urban Outfitters (one of my most favorites!) and they had this basketball hoop thing on sale. Dange fell IN LOVE! He kept saying "Ba-ball" so we totally caved and got it for him.

I would say it was a good investment, cause for atleast 10 minutes he kept shooting baskets!

Gosh I love him so!

Puzzling

So my sister-in-law,Robin, loves puzzles and she usually brings them to family get togethers. I didn't know that I would love puzzles so much, but I have found that it's usually relaxing to sit with everyone and talk and do a puzzle. Well, Fuzz and I were at the mall in one of those seasonal Christmas stores (think calendars and games) they were having their 50% off sale, and I thought that a puzzle sounded like something fun Fuzz and I could do together. So we bought one! I wanted one that looked kinda difficult, cause that means more time chatting with my hubby :)

So we bought one with hot air balloons all over it... I also loved all the colors in it! Plus it is panoramic!

Oh and you can't beat it costing like 6 dollars

ha the problem with it being panoramic was that it didn't fit on our card table, so we had to stack the coffee table which is slightly longer on the top of the card table. Twas awkward, but worked!

One thing that we hadn't noticed was that ALL of the pieces were the same shape!

Regardless the puzzle wasn't that difficult! Who knew? We started it one night, and then I kinda ended up letting Fuzz does most of the work that night cause I was feeling dizzy so I laid down on the couches. But the next night that we chose to work on it, we finished! Granted we started at probably 8 or 9 and finished at 12:30 am :) Either way we finished it in two rounds! woo woo! Shazzy power (that's Shani+Fuzzy)

I couldn't get the best pictures cause it was night time, my camera isn't super dooper great, and the flash kept shining off of it. Either way you get the idea.

Also here are a few more pictures of my little man...I just love him so!

In this one I was holding him, and he stuck his finger in his nose...so I stuck mine in my nose and right when Fuzz took the picture Dange decided his nose was itchy. Oh geez he melts my heart.

He's just such a happy kid! I don't know why we got so lucky! Do you like his Paul Frank shirt? If it comes in his size, and has Paul Frank then I am so down to buy it.

Five Ten...I wish!

Fuzzy and I have a rock climbing membership at our local rock climbing place, and I love going there! I'm not as good as my hubby, but I try. It's such a great feeling when you make it to the top. I'm learning how to be more creative with my footing and hand holds. Plus you have to position your body in such a way that you don't get tired too quickly, so instead of using your arm muscles you're supposed to use your legs. Kinda like a monkey hanging on the rocks, rather than using arm muscles to cling to them. I get tired so quickly! So I took some pictures, and I wanted to break down the whole climbing experience for you!

First of all there are different types of climbs that you can do. The first is bouldering, which is where you don't have a harness. You can climb freely (and it's not too high which is why there is no harness) and you're surrounded by padding so that you don't get hurt. The instructor we had told us that bouldering is more of a power exercise, where the ballaying is an endurance exercise.

The second is Ballaying. This type is where you are harnessed in and you climb pretty high! This one is my favorite.

Then they have lead climbing, which Fuzz and I haven't done yet. This is the one where you're harnessed in, but you have to clip your rope into the wall as you climb. SCARY. Fuzzy is really excited to learn this type of climbing, me...not so much.

So when it comes to Ballaying (what we did last night) they have different climbs that you can do. They range from 5.3 (easy) to like 5.11 (hard) plus each of those types has a certain letter like A, B, or C. C being the hardest. So it's kinda like doing 5.3 and a half or something.

My specialty? Mine is 5.8 ish. Don't worry that it's like the introductory range. Ugh. Fail.

Fuzzy's specialty? Well ofcourse 5.10 or 5.11! Geez he's good at everything he tries! This one is actually almost a 5.11! Guess what else? He just zipped right up this one... no problem.

The courses are easy to navigate cause all the rocks for that specific level are colored the same.
On this one I did the red course, and Fuzz did the green one.

All of the rocks look kinda dusty because you are supposed to use this thing called a chalk bag. It is a little bag that hangs around your waist, and when the rocks start to feel sweaty and you think you are losing your grip, you just reach in and squeeze the little bag of chalk (think panty hose filled with chalk powder) and then you have a better grip!

I am doing this with my fingers because I ALMOST made it to the top on this one. Geez it's a freaking 5.8! Intro

If you ever wanna come with us, just let me know :)
